Dining is the space you could experiment a lot with while designing and decorating your home. Depending upon the style and size of the space, there are numerous options in the market, ranging from furniture to wall treatments.  

Although many people view at a dedicated dining space as a luxury, it is advisable to provide the provision, if not within four walls, then an open dining space attached to the kitchen. 

CHOICE OF FURNITURE

Scale of the setting is an important factor while selecting furniture (this stands true for all the spaces within a house). Decide on furniture accordingly so that you have enough breathing space after all of the units are laid out.

Curtains can be chosen to regulate the amount of light needed. While providing artificial lighting, try to avoid formation of shadows on the table. The angle can be set accordingly. Lately people have started opting for direct hanging lights above the table. This is a clever choice since it is both functional and appeals to the aesthetics.

COLOURS & THEMES

Choose colours that build appetite, or relax you – like mild orange, red, light green yellow etc. Creating slight contrasts in the materials and colours on the walls and furniture will liven up the space to a certain degree.For dining spaces meant for holding formal dinners, royal shades that build a poise ambience can be utilised.

Ultimately, what makes up the interior of the space should be decided primarily upon the plans the users have for the same. Since dining space is often very flexible in its functionality, considering these points before hand would make it a very utilitarian space.
